Graduation Ceremony

At the end of each summer term, the Cologne Game Lab celebrates the graduates of all BA and MA study programs with its annual Graduation Ceremony.

Traditionally, the event was opened by CGL’s two co-founding directors, Prof. Em. Dr. Gundolf S. Freyermuth and Prof. Björn Bartholdy. Today, the ceremony is hosted by Prof. Björn Bartholdy together with Vice Director Prof. Nanette Kaulig. Alongside the formal presentation of degree certificates, the program features commencement speeches celebrating the achievements of the graduating class and marking the beginning of their professional journeys.

The official ceremony is often followed by a student organized barbecue and games showcase, bringing graduates, students, professors, staff, family, and friends together in a relaxed atmosphere throughout the CGL facilities at Schanzenstraße 28.
