Alumni Voices: Insights from the M.A. Game Development and Research

What paths open up after the M.A. Game Development and Research at Cologne Game Lab? In our latest interview series, alumni Pragya Mukherjee and Sylvia Ulloque, as well as current student Darren Lê Minh Đức, share their journeys into and through the games industry.

They reflect on their backgrounds before joining CGL, their time in the program, and the skills and experiences that continue to shape their careers. From founding an independent studio supported by our incubator Game Starter Foundry (Papercoda Games), to working in AAA development at Ubisoft on Rainbow Six Siege, to navigating the final stages of the Master’s thesis — the three offer diverse and inspiring perspectives.

Beyond personal career paths, they provide valuable advice for prospective and current students and highlight why Cologne and NRW offer a uniquely strong ecosystem for studying and working in games.
