About
Four universities in North Rhine-Westphalia have joined forces to establish the Games Technology Network (GTN). The Cologne Game Lab and the Institute for Information, Media and Electrical Engineering of TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences have teamed up with Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (coordination), RWTH Aachen University and Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences.
The declared aim of the new alliance is to build up a network of research institutions and industrial companies that will promote games technology and thus benefit NRW as a business location.
The partners will hold workshops with industry and other stakeholders from the cultural sector, science and public institutions. In this way, the innovation potential is to be explored. The offer is primarily aimed at regional companies and institutions.
In the medium term, the GTN is to evolve into a research and innovation center that looks at game development in all its facets and integrates the games industry in NRW.
The project is scheduled to run for two years and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia with funds from the NRW Future Fund.
