The nominees for the German Computer Game Award 2026 (Deutscher Computerspielpreis) have been announced, highlighting outstanding achievements in innovation, gameplay, and cultural impact across the German games industry.
Among the nominees are two titles with strong ties to Cologne Game Lab: Tiny Bookshop by Cologne-based studio neoludic – founded by CGL alumni – is nominated for Best German Game as well as Best Debut. In addition, Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure by Massive Miniteam, a studio also founded by CGL alumni, is nominated in the categories Best Family Game and Best Graphic Design.
The selection process follows a two-stage procedure: twelve expert juries from the games industry, academia, culture, and media first determine the nominees, before a main jury selects the final winners. The jury is chaired by Prof. Dr. Sabiha Ghellal (Hochschule der Medien Stuttgart). A full list of jury members is available on the official website.
The award is organized by the Bundesregierung, represented by the Bundesministerium für Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt, and game – Verband der deutschen Games-Branche. The 2026 ceremony is supported by the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Digitales.
The winners will be announced on April 29, 2026, at the official award ceremony in Munich.
