Prof. Dr. Gerald Farca teaches and researches in the field of game design with a focus on game studies/culture, interactive narratives as well as character and world design. His aim is to creatively combine theoretical principles with practical applications of game design. In 2018 Gerald completed his Ph.D. in English Literature and Game Studies at the University of Augsburg (Germany). There he also worked as a lecturer and was part of a research seminar on current issues in literary theory and drama. In addition, Gerald Farca has worked as a lecturer and visiting researcher at game studies institutions such as the Center for Computer Games Research at the IT University in Copenhagen (Denmark) in 2016 and CESAG at the Comillas Pontifical University in Palma (Spain) in 2018.
