The gamescom congress, scheduled for August 24th, 2023, in Cologne, serves as an interdisciplinary hub where over 90 experts will converge to discuss the transformative impact of gaming across various sectors including culture, politics, and pedagogy. In exciting talks and panels, they demonstrate how multifaceted games and game technologies can enrich our world of tomorrow.

Among the myriad of presenters, the Cologne Game Lab (CGL) is proud to have its representatives contributing to the discourse:

  • Katharina Tillmanns will explore “XR in Cultural Education: Adopting a Body-Centric Perspective” from 12.00 to 12.30 pm.
  • Jimena Aguilar (ifs köln), Kübra Aksay (University of Freiburg), Katja Aller (CGL), Dr. Federico Alvarez Igarzábal (CGL), and Christiane Grübler (University of Cologne) will address “Female Figures: Matters of Representation, Industry, and Community in Games” between 13.30 and 15.30 pm.
  • Prof. Dr. Sonia Fizek will shed light on “Greening Games. Designing and Teaching for Futures in Times of Climate Crisis” from 15.00 to 15.30 pm.
