INTERVIEW SCHEDULE

Dear CGL applicants,

First and foremost, we would like to thank you for your interest in the Cologne Game Lab. We received all your documents, which were duly examined by our Aptitude Assessment Commission. Now the first phase of our application process is over and it is time for the interview round.

Below this message, you will find tables with the interview schedules. There, you may find out if you have been invited to an interview or not by searching for your unique application number. You should have all received these numbers per email after submitting the application form on our website. To make the search easier, you can press Ctrl+F in Windows or Command+F in Mac. This will open a search field on your browser where you can type in your number.

If you find your number on the schedule, the date and time in the cells next to it correspond to your personal interview slot. If your applicant number is not listed in the interview schedule, this does NOT mean that your application has been rejected. Final admission decisions (for applicants with and without an interview invitation) will be communicated individually by email after the interview day (May 13, 2026). Applicants who are not admitted will also be notified by email.

If you have multiple applicant numbers, please check them all. 

We will only conduct online interviews. 
The interview method is video conference via Zoom.

Zoom Interviews
Successful applicants will receive a separate email with the necessary access data. 
Interviews will last 10 (ten) minutes. 
Please download Zoom on your device at least a day prior to your interview. (https://zoom.us/)
Make sure that your account ID enables us to clearly identify your full name. Please be available online ten minutes prior to your scheduled time. We will do our best to call you just in time. However, be aware that there could be a delay of up to 30 min. Should this be the case, we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Please test your internet connection and your technical devices (video and audio) via Zoom in advance and use headphones (if possible) to reach the best possible transmission quality.

Please send an email to study(at)colognegamelab.de at least three days prior to the interview, only If you cannot make it to the interview. Otherwise we do not require a confirmation email. We automatically assume that you will attend. 

Please Note: MA Game Development and Research – Interview Information

As part of the MA GDR admissions process, some applicants may be invited for an interview if the admissions committee requires additional information to make a final decision. For instance, this may occur when an applicant’s English proficiency cannot be fully assessed from the submitted materials. 
Important: Being invited to an interview does not indicate acceptance or rejection. Final admissions decisions will be made after the interview process is complete. 
If your applicant number does not appear on the interview list or the “non-invited” list (to be published after May 13, 2026), this generally means you have been accepted into the MA GDR program. Official notifications of acceptance are expedited to be sent via email by May 13, 2026.
