You Love Life, I Love Death revolves around the hurtful relationship between two incompatible partners. Starting from the illusion of being able to come to an agreement, the players give up on more and more of their abilities in order to maintain the relationship. As the situation escalates more and more, player agency vanishes. The whole theme of the game is inspired by policies of appeasement nowadays; it is meant to denunciate their gruesome implications.
