Two projects involving the Cologne Game Lab (TH Köln) have been selected for the next phase of the NEXT.IN.NRW innovation competition. Out of 76 submissions, 25 forward-looking proposals were chosen to submit full applications, including:

Gen-AIvatar
In collaboration with MindPort (Bonn) and the University of Bonn, this project aims to simplify and accelerate the creation of animated avatars for 3D applications using generative AI – making the process more efficient, cost-effective, and widely accessible.

HistoVear
Together with World of VR (Cologne) and the University of Paderborn, this project focuses on bringing historical clothing to life in virtual reality. By using AI-based reconstruction, garments are realistically animated and made interactively explorable for use in museums, games, and film productions.

The NEXT.IN.NRW innovation competition is part of the EU’s EFRE/JTF funding program and is led by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy of NRW in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Science of NRW.
