In 1997 Tom Putzki founded Piranha Bytes Software GmbHn in Bochum, the development studio for the GOTHIC series. He then became a co-founder of Phenomedia AG, known for the game “Moorhuhn” in 1999. He is currently a member of the advisory board of the Game Developers Conference Europe in Cologne. Since the beginning of 2006, Tom Putzki has been running his own consulting company and offers consulting services in and around the games industry. For two years, he was chairman of the board of G.A.M.E., the German Association of Computer Game Developers. Since April 2009, he has been on the advisory board of the Games Developer Conference (GDC) Europe. He also teaches the subjects “Game Business” and “Game Marketing” at the “Games Academy” locations in Berlin and Frankfurt as well as business management at the MD.H – Mediadesign Hochschule in Düsseldorf. Since 2011 he has been working for Wargaming and is head of the German branch office in Berlin and as Director of Communications responsible for communication in half of Europe.
