On July 12, we said goodbye to the graduating class of 2023 at Cologne Game Lab. Our students, now alumni, from BA Digital Games, MA Digital Games, MA Game Development and Research, and MA 3D Animation for Film & Games are set to make their marks in the games industry.

The commencement speaker was Leonie Wolf, herself a CGL alumna, and accomplished 3D artist. She and her colleagues of the initiative, #FemDevsMeetup, received the Special Jury Award of the German Computer Game Prize (DCP) for their efforts to promote networking among women in the games industry. Based on her own experience, Leonie gave this year’s graduates words of advice and encouragement for their upcoming ventures.

Following the graduation ceremony, the OPEN LAB offered a platform for both graduates and current students to present their semester projects. The day was completed with a casual barbecue and drinks, allowing everyone to unwind, network and celebrate the end of the semester or the end of studies.

We’re proud of what our graduates have achieved, and can’t wait to see where their journeys will take them next. Game on, class of 2023!
